With the presidential race underway, we are excited to invite you to our first Hillary houseparty in San Francisco. We've heard from many of you who would like to be involved in the campaign, and this is a fun way for you to do it! Our goal is not to raise a huge sum of money (although $ always helps). Rather, we hope to connect and organize Hillary supporters who live in the same communities.
Please join us for this fun evening!
About our special guest:
Wilson served as President George H. W. Bush's ambassador to Gabon and São Tomé and Príncipe and under President Bill Clinton, helped direct Africa policy for the National Security Council. In 1990, as chargé d'affaires in Baghdad, Wilson was the last American diplomat to meet with Saddam Hussein.
He is married to Valerie Plame, a CIA operative, who was exposed to the media by the Bush White House. On July 13, 2006, Joseph and Valerie filed a civil lawsuit against Rove, Libby, and Vice President Dick Cheney for their role in the public disclosure of Valerie Plame's classified CIA status. In 2004, Wilson published, The Politics of Truth: Inside the Lies that Led to War and Betrayed My Wife's CIA Identity: A Diplomat's Memoir. Plame is also the author to a series of spy novels with mystery writer Sarah Lovett.
The movie Fair Game, starring Naomi Watts and Sean Penn, is based on the books written by Plame and Ambassador Wilson.
